Enjoy a long season on the Willard Munger State Trail, one of Minnesota’s most extensive trail systems.

You’ll pass right through the heart of some of this region’s most spectacular and memorable scenery along more than 50 miles of well-maintained asphalt trails.

*In Cloquet, there are no trail fees, and entry points are just minutes away.

Western segment (37 miles):
Takes you near 2 state parks and the sites of the historic 1894 Hinckley fire and 1918 Cloquet and Moose Lake fires. Museums and monuments along the way describe a full range of historical and cultural events unique to the area.

Eastern segment (15 miles):
Though designed for snowmobiling, the eastern section of the Munger is easily accessible for any adventurous cyclist. And it’s worth the effort — Jay Cooke State Park, breathtaking cliffs along the St. Louis River, as well as views of the Duluth-Superior harbor await you.

  CARLTON BIKE RENTAL BIKE TOURS ~ Organic Dairy Farm Tour

 Carlton Bike Rental is pleased to announce we are now offering local Bike Tours! Starting immediately on both Fridays and Saturdays, in arrangement with Green Pastures Dairy, area residents and visitors can bike ride to an organic dairy farm.

On Fridays, leave Carlton Bike Rental at 10:00am, ride the beautiful Munger Trail for approximately 9 miles to Green Pastures Dairy, a locally owned and operated all organic dairy farm.  Minnesota Farmstead Cheese is made on Friday mornings, and a viewing window is located in the store for those interested in watching the process.  Bike riders will then be served lunch, and a beverage. 

 On Saturdays, leave Carlton Bike Rental at 10:30AM, ride the beautiful Munger Trail to Green Pastures Dairy(GPD), on tap for riders is a full tour of the farm.  GPD milk in the spring, summer, and fall, using intensive rotational grazing, which means the cows are moved to fresh green pastures daily.  You will also enjoy meeting the rest of the farm, to include turkeys, pigs, hens, and other farm animals.  Lunch will be served as well as a beverage.

Tour includes bike rental, lunch, approximately 3 hoursof stress-free living and an Ice Cream Treat upon your return to Carlton Bike Rental.$25.00 per person
