Workforce
Carlton County has seen unprecedented growth in recent years. Census estimates have shown a 6.1 % increase in population in Carlton County with decreases occurring in neighboring counties. Carlton County is in the 25th percentile in population growth, ranking 20th among the 87 Minnesota counties. The city of Cloquet is a general manufacturing and wood manufacturing hub for the Arrowhead Region and the State of Minnesota.
