Cloquet Area Chamber of Commerce Timeline
Early 1900s
The Beginning
As the Cloquet area grew through the lumber industry and expanding commerce, local business leaders recognized the need for a unified organization to advocate for economic growth, promote local businesses, and strengthen the community.
1918
Resilience after the Cloquet Fire
Following the devastating Cloquet Fire, the business community played a vital role in rebuilding the city. The Chamber became an important partner in supporting local businesses and encouraging long-term economic recovery.
Mid - 1900s
Supporting a Growing Economy
As Cloquet's economy diversified beyond timber, the Chamber expanded its focus to include manufacturing, retail, healthcare, tourism, education, and professional services—providing networking opportunities, business advocacy, and community leadership.
